In a world where gods descended from the heavens, there is the city of Orario, which features a dungeon, containing a variety of monsters, from goblins to dragons. Adventurers slay these monsters and take their shards, which are then used to create magical items. To become an adventurer, people join groups called a Familia. Each bears the name of a resident god and serves them. Adventurers, their traits, and skills are ranked by level, improved with experience, and are overseen by their Familia’s god. Bell Cranel, a novice adventurer, is the only member of the Familia under the command of the goddess Hestia. After being rescued from the Loki Familia by high-ranking adventurer Ais Wallenstein, he falls in love with her and sets out to better himself and become worthy of her attentions. All the while, he is mostly unaware that other girls, gods, and humans are also developing feelings for him. Especially Hestia herself.
